Lady Bird
Saoirse Ronan and Greta Gerwig make a brilliant double act in this superb California set coming of age tale that will age very very well. This is one to watch and watch and watch.

A young gay man sets out to find love in this highly entertaining high school drama that zigs when you expect it to zag. Nick Robinson is a great lead.
Operation Red Sea
Big silly epic action fun chinese style. Based on a huge evacuation during the 2015 Yemen Civil War, this is far more violent and bombastic than your usual American films.
The Cured
An Irish zombie film that somehow manages to breathe new life into a genre that was as shuffling and rotten as the creatures it portrayed. Excellent.
Black Panther
The best comic book film of the year and a real shot in the arm in terms of diversity in blockbuster movies. Wakanda Forever indeed.

3 parents set out to scupper their daughter's plans on prom night. A comedy that hits all it's marks and contains as much heart as it does laughs. John Cena rocks it.

Kilkenny's Cartoon Saloon nail it once again with this upsetting yet gorgeous look at the disturbing effects that fundamentalist regimes have on women in modern day Kabul.

The Shape Of Water
A deaf woman falls in love with a sea creature. So much better than that sounds and a metaphor for everything that's broken about modern day America. Sally Hawkins is amazing in Guillermo Del Toro's beautiful adult fairytale.
