Cold Mountain. I'm not usually one for a romantic film but man i love this one. The epic sweep of it. A real thing keeping two lovers apart and not just a misunderstanding. An ending that feels well and truly earned. The surreal edge that war seems to bring to a place. That opening battle that feels ridiculously far fetched but that actually happened. Plus Brendan Gleeson in support. You can never go wrong with him.
