5 minutes before Foscadh started.
Just after it finished there was the same amount of people in there.
Yet another Irish film dies on it's arse in cinemas outside of Dublin. And on the eve of St Patrick's day too. For shame. Why are people so afraid of going to see an Irish film? Do they still assume everything is like The Snapper? Things have moved on quiet a bit for fuck sake. Ok, we don't exactly pump out multiplex friendly crowd pleasers but there's always substance, food for thought, dark humour is definitely our forte. Our films aren't afraid of big emotions or of delving into the parts of our psyches we've been conditioned to ignore. Seeing an Irish film can often be akin to talking to a doctor! That alone makes them far more interesting than any big budget CGI bonanza.
But, you know, explosions and lasers will always win.
