Game Of Thrones S02 E07 - A Man Without Honour
Theon wakes up from his seduction by Osha to discover she's done a runner. She's made a chump of him. Bran, Rickon, Hodor and Osha are gone. There's all respect for Theon flown out the window again.
He goes on the hunt, dragging maester Luwin along. Luwen's words echo in his head. The boys are worth far more alive than dead. He might as well be speaking to a woodlouse.
Bran and his gang are ambling along. Having a Hodor is very handy. Luckily they find a farm full of kids to hide at. Hmmm.
Jon Snow wakes up beside Ygritte. Morning has broken in a lot of ways and she realises he has no experience of women. She then wastes no time in making him feel like a wee boy.
Wildlings have no filter as Jon finds out during their search for the Nights guard. None. Her disbelief at the idea of Nights Watch celibacy is priceless. But then her views on the ownership of the North start seeing him question his beliefs.
In Harrenhal, Jaqen Hagar's killings are starting to be noticed. Tywin Lannister assumes he was the one in the firing line and that the Brotherhood without Banners is behind it all.
Little does he realise the reason behind the killing is the small woman serving him food. Tywin has a soft spot for Arya and allows himself to be open around her. More fool him.
While talking to Arya he tells her of Harrenhal's past. She knows dragons played a part in it's destruction along with the Targaryens. He's impressed but wondering how a slave girl knows so much. She's been too smart. Now he knows she's highborn. But not that she's a Stark.
In Kings Landing Sansa is still rattled after the attack. Thanking The Hound for rescuing her she gets a look into what makes him tick. There's a lot of darkness in that head of his. But it's not all dark.
In Qarth Daenerys is seriously pissed off. Her dragons are gone. She trusts no one. Xaro Xhoan Daxos promises to help her get them back. She's wary. I don't trust him either. He's pure shifty.
Up North Jon & Ygritte are still on the move. Jesus she talks a lot. Jon is a man who doesn't talk much. His head is visibly melting but the freedom Ygritte and her lifestyle offers is tempting him.
At the Stark camp Ser Alton Lannister has returned with news that Cersei has turned down Robb's offer of peace. Due to the sheer amount of prisoners being held Alton is placed in a cell with his cousin Jaime.
Robb's stress is eased by the appearance of Talisa. The attraction is strong between them. I sense this will cause Robb hassle in the future.
Theon is searching the farmhouse we last saw Bran's gang at. He's sick of looking like a fool and a eunuch. Huh. He must be psychic (wink). Once again he goes over the top to prove how strong he is.
Daenerys is missing her little winged buddies. Ser Jorah is back. Had he been there the dragons would never have been taken. She needs him. He speaks sense. There's no bullshit with him. But she won't let him come too close.
Jon and Ygritte are still walking. OK, this is a lot of padding. Ygritte flat out offers Jon the ride. Jon's a fool though. Him and his stupid loyalties. But it's all a trick. At the moment there's no blood left in his brain she does a runner. But this time she's done it because she's spotted Wildlings and soon enough he's surrounded. Feck.
Sansa's nightmares wake her and she discovers she had her first period. She's a woman now and can bear Joffrey a child. Shae helps her hide the evidence but the Hound has seen what's up. Joffrey will know soon.
Cersei knows sooner and begins to prepare Sansa for whats coming. She knows her son Joffrey is a cunt but tells Sansa that kids are worth the suffering.
In The Lannister camp Jaime is tied up with his cousin. They get on well. It's weird seeing a human side to a monster. Jaime speaks of his youth and his apprenticeship with Ser Barristan Selmy.
A lovely scene until Jaime murders him and uses the chaos to murder a guard and do a legger. Yup, he's a fucking bollix.
Jorah's dragon hunt shows him how weird Qarth is. He meets a psychic who knows he's spy and it rattles him. The psychic also tells him that Xaro Xhoan Daxos is behind the dragon theft.
Daenerys assumes it's a man called Pree who's a the thief. Pree is a demon with the power to multiply which he shows off when he singlehandedly murders all the powerful leaders of Qarth.
Xaro Xhoan Daxos is now the king of Qarth and she finds out her dragons are waiting for her in the House of the Undying. She's been used as a pawn in another Game Of Thrones. A cool scene but just more padding really.
Jaime's escape didn't last too long. The bannermen are sick of him now and are calling for his head after he murdered the guard. Catelyn stops the execution because his safety is the only way Sansa will ever get back to her.
Tyrion and Cersei are having a natter. Tyrion informs her of Stannis Baratheon's proximity. Also that her wildfire plan won't work. You get the sense he has one that will.
He also talks to her of Joffrey's wild ways. She can't control him either and infers his broken personality is because he's a product of incest. Yep, riding your brother will never turn out well.
Catelyn's saving of Jaime is causing hassle. He tries to bait her into killing him fast by speaking of how his love for his sister is purer than he love for Ned. His mention of Ned's son Jon Snow enrages her and she snaps, demanding Brienne's sword....
In Winterfell Theon rants that everyone should have listened to his warnings. As a result he has something to show them. The burnt bodies of who we assume are Bran and Rickon.
His face betrays him though.
There was a lot of padding in this episode. A lot. The Arya/Tywin stuff saved it from being totally unmemorable and for once there's no new characters to have to remember. Thank god.
