A movie that makes me sad.
It's gotta be this. The most anti war film ever made. The story of Setsuko and Seita, a little girl and her big brother before, during and after the firebombing of Kobe in Japan during World War 2. The story begins with Seita dying of starvation in a railway station and then flashes back to happier times. We see them as innocent kids, we start to care for them, we become fully invested in their story and then die when they are ripped away from us.
It is just brutal, a beautifully sad story. A film that will ruin your day.
