10 Things I hate About You - Patrick and the marching band. A perfect pairing of sound & vision.

The moment Heath Ledger became a star

Kat (Julia Stiles) and Bianca Stratford are untouchable in their Seattle high school. Everyone wants Bianca. Everyone is terrified of Kat. Their old fashioned father won't let Bianca date anyone until Kat does, reasoning that if Kat never will neither will Bianca. Cameron, a fellow student is madly in love with Bianca and hires Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger) to woo Kat, knowing he's a man who doesn't scare easily. His usual methods don't work with Kat so now he has to step outside the box. This occurs. The kind of thing that could only happen in an American High School film.

Isn't it just great. A fella making an epic play for a girl and her smile just saying it all. It's a scene that would put a goofy grin on your face for the rest of the day. Ledger sadly passed away 11 years ago and these days is remembered mainly for his tortured role as Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain and his once in a lifetime showing as The Joker in The Dark Knight. This should be up there too. It's easily his most joyous moment onscreen. 10 Things I Hate About You was adapted from The Taming Of The Shrew written by William Shakespeare 427(ish) years ago. Time has rendered many of aspects of the play (and film) anachronistic since but it's easy to overlook a lot when you get a scene this good out of it.

Perfect.
