Game Of Thrones S03 E05 - Kissed by Fire

We resume with the Brotherhood without Banners. They've passed judgement on the Hound for his murders and he's facing trial by combat. His opponent, Beric Dondarrion. A man with scars that put the Hound's to shame.

Like Melisandre the Red Witch, they worship the Lord of Light. Hmmm

Surely the Hound will have no issues here........oh jesus, Beric is using some kind of witchy magic to set his sword alight. The Hound has fire issues. This is going to be a slog.

Until the Hound more or less bisects Beric. Arya is, as they say in Boston, wicked pissed. And then all of a sudden Beric is alive again. What kind of superpowers does the Lord of Light grant these people????

In the North Jon is slowly gaining the trust of the Wildlings. Slowly. Feeding them info about the wall and it's defences is helping. All these info though, it's going to bite back at him hard.

Ygritte steals his sword and does a legger with it into a cave. Ohh, this is Wildling foreplay. *gratuitous nudity klaxon* Will Jon break his chastity vows to prove he has passed over to the other side?? OF COURSE HE WILL. Wait a second?? How does he know how to do that???

Jon's not a virgin anymore. He's ashamed. Ygritte had a whale of a time it seems. Good man Jon Snow. He does know something after all. Jesus she's mad for it!

Because the Hound won his fight he's free to go. Arya is fuming. But she has no say. The Lord of Light has spoken.

In Harrenhal, Jaime and Brienne are delivered to Roose Bolton by Locke. Bolton seems like he'll be some bit kinder to the prisoners. Jaime is a wreck and is only hearing of Blackwater now. The news that Cersei is alive is what he needed.

Qyburn, the man found by Robb and Catelyn treats Jaime. It's just in time too because he's at the edge of death. The infection needs to be cut out. Jaime won't take any painkillers. Is this him punishing himself for his shitty treatment of Brienne?

Littlefinger (ugh) is hovering around Cersei. She needs his help to get the Tyrells away from Joffrey. She doesn't trust them. I can't say she's wrong in fairness.

Tyrion is lunching with Olenna Tyrell. Royal wedding discussions come up. The price is killing Tyrion. The cost will be split. The two get on well. Every character that gets a scene with Olenna does well. She's so good.

Gendry has decided to stay on with the Brotherhood. His skills will come in handy here. Once again Arya is boiling. Nothing is going right for her. Her friends are all rapidly disappearing

At Robb's camp, his bannermen are out for blood and the two young Lannister prisoners are their targets. Lord Karstark who lost a son butchers them both. This will not stand. Robb is not a man to be made a fool of. He needs to set an example.

His mother pleads with him not to kill his own men. But Robb is his father's son. This needs to be nipped in the bud now. He needs to show what he's made of. And so he takes Karstark's head himself.

Arya's kill list is building again. Joffrey, Cersei, Ser Ilyn Payne, Ser Meryn and now the Hound. The Brotherhood are going to bring her to Robb so that's something I suppose. That will be a nice reunion. She also finds out that Beric Dondarrion has been resurrected by the Lord Of Light 6 times. Each time coming back bearing the scars of his death.

Out at Dragonstone we meet Selyse Baratheon, wife of Stannis. The Forgotten woman. She knows all about his dalliance with Melisandre and she's ok with it, knowing it was for war. He's also come to see his daughter. Shireen. She's a little dote. Too nice for this world.

She considers Ser Davos her buddy. She's a good judge of character. He's the only decent one of Stannis's bunch. Stannis has him chained up though.

At Harrenhal Jaime joins Brienne in the communal baths. She's morto. It's here he apologises and tells her the true story of why he killed the mad king. He did it to stop him blowing up all of King's Landing. So....it wasn't a murder. Hmmm. Great scene.

Shireen has snuck down to Ser Davos. yay. These two will be good together. One thing this show does great is it's little pairings. She's brought him a book. He can't read. She decides to teach him. She's pure sound.

Daenerys is marching with her Unsullied. Jorah and Selmy are trading war stories. Both are sizing each other up but Jorah wants to know if Selmy know's he's a spy for Varys. It seems he doesn't.

The Unsullied have chosen their own leader. His name is Greyworm. They've never experienced this level of freedom and are in total debt to her which will come in handy when the shit kicks off.

Robb's execution of Karstark has cost him all the Karstark men. He's in trouble. So he's going to take on the Lannister's at Casterly Rock. The Lannister ancestral home. He'll take the battle to them.

The only way he can win is to get more men. The only place to get more men though is from the Frey's. Walder Frey. A man Robb has already broken a promise too. Aman who is not to be trifled with.

At King's Landing Sansa is eyeing up Loras Tyrell. She's not his type though. He prefers his lovers a bit more masculine. And little does he know his latest conquest *gratuitous nudity klaxon* is a Littlefinger spy.

He then meets Sansa to discuss her coming with him to the Vale for him to marry her aunt Lysa Arryn. But she's decided to stay around for a while.

Man i fuckin hate Littlefinger. Everything about him.

Tyrion brings his father Tywin good financial news about the wedding. Tywin has bigger fish to fry. He's learned of the Tyrell plot to marry Sansa to Loras. He's not happy. The Tyrell's would align with the North. Not good.

He has a plan to stop all of this happening. Tywin always has a plan. He's smart like that. What is the plan?

Why marry her to Tyrion of course. Keep her tied up with House Lannister. Tyrion is horrified by this turn of events. Cersei is loving it until she finds out she's to marry Ser Loras. Haha.

Another piece moving episode but a right good one. Shenanigans all over the gaff. Political intrigue everywhere. You can't trust a single soul in Westoros it seems.
