Charlie's at a dance and it's obvious he'd rather be anywhere else. School isn't working out for him after he lost his best friend to suicide and people are starting to look at him oddly too. But there's a glimmer of hope in the shape of Patrick and Sam, a quirky step brother/sister duo he's been getting to know. They march to the beat of their own drums and they don't give a fuck what others think of them. Charlie wants to know what it's like to be like that and now with Dexy's Midnight Runners providing the music he might just find out.
If he can take that first step that is.
Ah god, it's just great isn't it. You couldn't ask for a better pairing of sound and vision. That song, wild at first letting Patrick and Sam do their thing without a care in the world, then slowing right down, giving Charlie the perfect chance so step on in and change his life. He does and it does. One of the perks of being a wallflower is that glorious moment when you decide not to be anymore.
