The first film I remember seeing was Superman 3. No doubt I'd seen some before but this is the first one I actually remember seeing in a cinema. The old cinema in Birr. The place was in an old silo or something similar. It was a wreck but it was magic. I was 5 i think. I've vague recollections of being terrified and wowed, terrified and wowed. Terrified when a young boy was about to be killed by a combine harvester and wowed when the man of steel swooped in to save the day. I remember me and Da cheering. A lot. 36 years ago. Jesus.
