Michael K. Williams R.I.P.

The immortal words of Omar Little, West Baltimore stick up man extraordinaire. He should have been a bastard, someone we wanted to see splattered across a wall but he was magnetic. His character in The Wire was only supposed to have been in a few episodes but Michael K. William's portrayal of a gay gunman who never swore and who only used his gun on those who deserved it struck a chord with the show makers and viewers alike. He stood out in the field. He became everyone's favourite.

Williams was phenomenal in the role. He made you care about a man who had no qualms in gunning down people in cold blood. His turns as Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire and Leonard in Hap And Leonard were great too but Omar's the one everyone will remember forever.

This scene especially.

He just dismantles drug lawyer Maurice Levy. Ruins his day. The jurors fall for him instantly. He has his ethics and he stands by them. He's the man in this courtroom. 

It's an amazing performance.
